MD solar tax credits & incentives

When you install solar in Maryland, you may qualify for these cost savings:

Federal tax credit for 30% of the cost. You’ll get this credit if you buy your system or get a loan (not lease). This credit is available through 2032.
Maryland Solar Access Program. Starting in 2025, income-eligible customers can apply for a grant of up to $7500
Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SRECs) that solar owners can either cash out or use to offset their utility bills.
MD property tax exemption. Solar panels can raise your property value and taxes. This 100% exemption of added property value prevents you from paying higher taxes because of your solar system.
Sales tax exemption. Solar energy systems are exempt from MD sales and use tax.
